About Me
Happy Hound Dog Coaching

Hi, I am Nicole Smith the owner of Happy Hound.
I have been a Veterinary Nurse for 12 years. Completing my Certificate IV in 2017 I always knew I wanted to work with animals from a young girl growing up on her family farm in one way or another and nursing was my calling.
My passion for dog training came about when I worked with a behavioural veterinarian and I just loved everything about it, but I also noticed our area in Warrnambool lacked Force Free Trainers. So I started my journey with my Certificate IV in animal behaviour and training with the Delta Dog Training Institute in 2021 and finished 2024.

My aim with starting Happy Hound Dog Coaching was to use both of my passions together. Offering Force Free Training and Behaviour Modification for owners and dogs that need that extra special care and consideration put into their training and making it unique to them but also being able to give that extra advice on any veterinary nursing advice some owners may need.

I am hoping to open up owners ideology on dog behaviour and why their dog does what it does and how we as a team can learn from your dog and your dog learn from you in the most relaxed, calm, force free, enjoyable way possible.

I look forward to meeting you all on your journey.

I will be covering Warrnambool and Surrounding areas, please contact me to discuss.

Happy Dogs, Happy Life.

Types of Consults
Behaviour Modification Training/Consultations

These sessions are designed to address common but unwanted behaviours. I will investigate the underlying causes of these behaviours and employ various modification techniques tailored to your dog, aiming to alter their emotional response and default towards the stressor. In cases where dogs exhibit high stress or anxiety then a consultation with a Veterinary Behaviourist may be necessary before returning for additional training with me. I will evaluate this during our initial meeting.

Private Consultations for Basic Training:

These sessions are designed for dogs who may feel overwhelmed in group classes and require foundational training in the comfort of their own home. They are also ideal for those who couldn't attend group classes or need personalized one-on-one training to enhance their existing skills. My lessons can cover everything from basic training to more advanced techniques, and we can work in various locations, including your home, parks, or even the beach.

Mind Dog Training Sessions:

These Sessions are for those people that have been accepted into the Mind Dog Training program (Assistance Dogs) and are working towards their PAT. You can book these sessions once I hear from your assessor.
